3、022,primarily attributed to economic uncertainty.The slowdown was particularly pronounced in Mainland China which had until 2023 been the powerhouse of Asias economic growth and so usually a very candidate favourable market.However,geopolitical tension and reduced foreign direct investment into Chin
4、a has resulted in significantly less job opportunities in 2023.In comparison to the Mainland,Hong Kong experienced a slower year on year job market in 2023 but was not impacted to the same extent as Mainland China.Even after relaxing visa requirements to attract foreign talent,Hong Kong continued to
5、 boast low unemployment rates and the return of tourists and increased travel activities has injected vitality into the regions economy,providing optimism for sustained economic growth and job market stability.In Southeast Asia and especially Singapore,the job markets remained buoyant in 2023 but di
6、dnt manage to reach the insatiable demand observed in 2022.The economic activity in these areas reflected a tempered but still positive outlook as increased investment continues to be made in the region as business move their investment away from China to de-risk supply chains.These countries are po

41、as Job MarketIn 2023,the Malaysian job market faced challenges stemming from global political uncertainties,increased living costs10,and declining exports11,influencing candidate considerations.The 2024 budget,announced in November 2023,introduced several measures to revitalise the employment market
42、.According to the CEO and co-founder of Malaysia HR Forum,five industries expected to have a significant impact on the job market in 2024 including e-commerce,technology&information technology(IT),renewable energy&green technology,tourism&hospitality,and construction.12 With substantial budget alloc
