3、ivate and prolong these privacy concerns.The delisting of apps is a common practice among app stores at times to remove low-quality,non-compliant or malicious apps.Google regularly removes such apps from its app stores.While some apps are delisted for benign reasons,others are removed as a result of

4、 more nefarious behaviors,including ad fraud and non-compliance with privacy regulations.The removal(or delisting)of these apps from app stores does not necessarily mean that they disappear from user devices.As per Pixalates data,they can still remain on user devices and continue to run ads,leading

7、of Google Play apps being delisted in a single quarter,compared to an average delisting rate of 8%in previous quarters,a fourfold increase.In Q2 2024,74%of delisted apps were abandoned(not updated in over two years),up from just 25%a year ago in Q2 2023.Thus,only 15%of available apps in Q2 2024 were

8、 abandoned,a substantial decrease from over 40%last year.Furthermore,433k(39%)delisted apps in Q2 2024 had not been updated in the last four years,compared to just 6%in Q2 2023.Additionally,18k delisted apps had wallpaper or screensaver keywords in their titles.However,this represents only 37%of the

9、 total number of these apps,as 30k low functionality apps with these titles are still available for download from Google Play as of the end of Q2 2024Recent changes to Google Play policies,announced on July 17,2024,have introduced stricter standards for app quality,transparency,and security.These up

27、ive app stores performed by Pixalate or one of Pixalates third party licensors.Delisted AppsApps can be delisted for a variety of reasons,for purposes like breaching app store policies to more benign reasons,such as the developers decision to withdraw the app.Pixalate is neither asserting nor assign

28、ing a reason for any delisting action.Additionally,the initiator of the delisting is not generally publicly-available information,so it is often not possible to know whether the removal was triggered by the app store or the developer.Pixalate is sharing this data not to impugn the standing or reputa

29、tion of any person,entity or app,but,instead,to report opinions as they pertain to delisted Android apps.METHODOLOGYCountry of RegistrationThe country of registration for a given app is determined only if a)the app has a physical address published in its app store page,or otherwise b)from the regist

30、rant physical address of the publisher domain listed in the app store page excluding privately registered ones.If none is available,the physical address associated with an app cannot be determined.Sometimes,the same developer may list different countries of registration for different apps.Country of
