5、otal role of young people in this endeavour the Global Shapers Community stands as an unprecedented force for positive change,comprising 18,000 young leaders driving action in 500 major cities,remote islands and refugee camps in 154 countries and territories.With a focus on building youth leaders,ac

6、celerating youth action and amplifying youth voices,the Global Shapers Community has achieved significant milestones this year.Over 1,800 changemakers were directly equipped with essential leadership skills through targeted initiatives worldwide.Notably,1,000 young people participated in six regiona

7、l SHAPE events,promoting global collaboration and driving multi-city movements for change.The Global Shapers Annual Summit convened 500 young innovators at the World Economic Forum,accelerating values-based leadership and establishing enduring partnerships with over 10 Forum centres and initiatives.

8、The summit attracted the largest virtual audience to date with over 9,600 young people tuning in to discover how the Forum is working with next-generation leaders to address critical global issues.As we approach the midpoint of the 2030 Agenda,the Global Shapers Community remains committed to accele

9、rating youth action and improving outcomes for people and the planet.In 2024,we celebrated a remarkable achievement in our seven-year partnership with The Climate Reality Project,as 1,000 Global Shapers became certified climate action leaders.This is just one example of how we are driving change acr

10、oss our six impact areas,including protecting the planet,strengthening democracy,accelerating reskilling,promoting social justice,improving well-being and safeguarding the most vulnerable.This year,our changemakers implemented over 400 local social change initiatives,which have engaged more than 1 m

11、illion people globally.To continue equipping young people with support to scale our impact,we proudly launched an innovation prize,which will recognize top solutions led by hubs in partnership with Accenture and the Global Alliance for YOUth.Finally,the Forum used its convening power to amplify infl

12、uential youth voices at our meetings this year.At the Annual Meeting in Davos,50 Global Shapers advanced inspiring intergenerational solutions among 3,000 world leaders from diverse sectors.The following report outlines our strategic activities this year all achieved in partnership with the Global S

14、lie Pierce Head,Global Shapers CommunityEstablished by Klaus Schwab in 2011,the Global Shapers Community is an unprecedented network of more than 18,000 inspiring young people and alumni driving dialogue,action and change in more than 500 city-based hubs in over 150 countries and territories.Located

15、 in capital cities,remote islands and refugee camps,hubs represent vibrant teams of passionate young people from all walks of life.Through their diverse perspectives,lived experiences and commitment to working together,Global Shapers design projects to enhance their communities,address local challen

16、ges and create a sense of belonging.Global Shapers arose predominantly from a desire among young people to actively participate in shaping the future.Our community presents a scalable framework for organizing and mobilizing the immense potential of youth.Working alongside local stakeholders,Global S

17、hapers lead social movements and promote innovative civic solutions.In 2023,we updated our Theory of Change based on a decade of practical experience.Ourcommunitys strategic activities can now be summarized as follows:Building youth leaders:Our hub-based model and learning opportunities offer young

18、changemakers hands-on experiences to develop skills in organizing and leading social change.Global Shapers discover how to build teams,inspire people,partner with stakeholders and drive collective action through local projects.Accelerating youth action:From environmental protection to social justice

19、,Global Shapers lead projects to address pressing challenges in their communities and the world.Projects are designed with the input of diverse voices and have a clearly defined problem statement,collective action solution and measurable outcomes.Amplifying youth voices:Exposure to the World Economi

20、c Forum enables young changemakers to have their voices heard and acted upon.Global Shapers work with business,government and civil society leaders on joint initiatives to improve the state of the world and promote intergenerational cooperation.Global Shapers are aged between 18 and 30.Since 2011,ov

21、er 30,000 young people have proudly joined our hubs worldwide.During this time,members have implemented over 3,000 projects,improving the lives of over 2.5 million people with improved access to education,employment,housing and healthcare,and engaged 15 million people globally in awareness campaigns

27、dersOur community offers changemakers hands-on experiences to develop skills in organizing and leading social change.This year,over 1,800 changemakers were equipped with essential leadership skills through targeted initiatives worldwide.Notably,1,000 young people participated in six regional SHAPE e

28、vents,promoting global collaboration and driving multi-city movements for change.In 2023,75%of Global Shapers self-reported an increased understanding of local and regional issues thanks to our activities.Notably,73%of members reported increased self-confidence and self-awareness.Similarly,73%of mem

29、bers identified new ways to take local action,and 41%were inspired to start their own social enterprises.We thank this years SHAPE hosts the Abu Dhabi Hub,Bangkok Hub,Kathmandu Hub,Manaus Hub,Tshwane Hub and Washington DC Hubs for creating meaningful moments for our members to learn from one another

30、 and leading social enterprises in cities around the world.Members will value the insights generated from SHAPEs for years to come.The Global Shapers Annual Summit also convened 500 young innovators at the World Economic Forum,accelerating values-based leadership and establishing enduring partnershi

31、ps with over 10 Forum centres and initiatives.The summit attracted the largest virtual audience to date with over 9,600 young people tuning in to discover how the Forum is working with next-generation leaders to address critical global issues.When evaluating the summits learning outcomes,98%of Globa

32、l Shapers reported developing valuable skills to organize social change,including how to build teams,inspire people,partner with stakeholders and lead local projects.Similarly,96%of Global Shapers shared that their participation helped to enhance their leadership skills,notably improving their self-

33、awareness,empathy,commitment and motivation to mobilize others this year.In 2024,we also celebrated a significant milestone in our seven-year partnership with The Climate Reality Project:1,000 Global Shapers became certified Climate Realty Leaders with over 200 members trained by US Vice-President A

34、l Gore in Accra,Rome and New York.Through these trainings,Global Shapers gained the skills,know-how and networks to advance practical climate solutions across diverse sectors.Since the Climate Reality Incubator and Innovation Grant Challenge was launched in 2021,we are proud to have supported and fu

35、nded over 100 diverse youth-led initiatives that have ranged from accelerating reforestation in Abuja,Nigeria,to pioneering sustainable waste management practices in Quito,Ecuador,and addressing the growing environmental risks of e-waste in Brisbane,Australia.Finally,100 of our top innovators and ac

36、tivists Global Shapers committed to addressing the greatest social and environmental challenges of our time were supported with six months of executive coaching through Coaching.Com Foundation.Coaching enabled young changemakers to increase their social impact while prioritizing personal well-being.

37、Global Shapers Community:Annual Report 2023-20247Global Shapers Annual SummitOver 500 young innovators,activists and entrepreneurs participated in the Global Shapers Annual Summit the foremost event for inspiring,mobilizing and organizing next-generation leaders.At the heart of the Global Shapers Co

38、mmunity is the idea that the future should be shaped by those who will live in it nothing about us without us.Young changemakers from 145 countries and territories engaged in more than 70 sessions,including inspiring talks,skills workshops and peer groups,to exchange solutions to move the world forw

39、ard.Members practised our core leadership values,including empathy,service,cooperation and collaboration.SHAPE South AsiaSHAPE South Asia was hosted by the Kathmandu Hub and united 130 Global Shapers from over 50 hubs across 20 countries under the theme“Shaping Climate Resiliency”.At the event,Globa

40、l Shapers launched the Shaping Climate Resilience towards a Great Himalayan Future for All advocacy paper outlining an united agenda for achieving climate resiliency in the Himalayas,which included a corporate pledge supported by influential industry leaders,scientists and experts in the region.Glob

41、al Shapers developed skills to raise awareness of the disproportionate impacts of climate change in frontline communities and the need for a clean energy transition.SHAPE EuropeHosted under the Basque philosophy of“Harreman”meaning“the more you give,the more you receive”the Bilbao Hub hosted SHAPE E

42、urope and Eurasia,uniting 250 changemakers from 110 hubs and 40 countries this year.Opening at the iconic Guggenheim Museum with a Global Shaper-led orchestra and closing at the San Mams Stadium,known as The Cathedral of Football,Bilbao Hub focused on building meaningful connections for learning and

43、 lasting impact.Global Shapers exchanged best practices for organizing social change,volunteered with inspiring local organizations transforming the city and discovered ways they could give back.SHAPE Latin AmericaConvening under the theme“Qual a sua Amaznia?What is your Amazon?”,Manaus Hub brought

44、together over 130 Global Shapers from 34 hubs in 10 countries to accelerate climate action and justice.Global Shapers connected with Uplink innovators and ecopreneurs to exchange principles and practices for creating more equitable and sustainable outcomes for the Amazon.Participants were joined by

46、om climate justice to social inclusion,Global Shapers are driving positive and lasting change to shape a better future.Locally and globally,our inspiring members work together to design local projects that enhance their communities,address pressing challenges and create a sense of belonging.Since 20

47、11,Global Shapers have implemented over 3,000 projects,directly improving the lives of over 2.5 million people with improved access to education,employment,housing and healthcare.During this period,Global Shapers also engaged more than 15 million people in awareness campaigns and research on the top

48、ics young people care about most.In 2024,Global Shapers implemented over 400 local social change initiatives,which have engaged more than 1 million people globally.Over 60%of project beneficiaries were young people or vulnerable groups,including young women and girls,people with disabilities and tho

49、se living in underserved or crisis-affected areas.Global Shapers continue to demonstrate a strong commitment to equity,inclusion and social justice.More than 13 million Filipinos cant afford three meals a day.Yet,Filipinos also waste 300,000 tonnes of food each year.Being exposed to successful enter

50、prises led by Global Shapers motivated a group in my hub to start Sureplus,a social enterprise to connect excess food from local farmers,groceries and restaurants to consumers.We also accept food subsidy donations for specific individuals,families and charities.Part of our proceeds are given to our

51、partner charities.Jason Occidental,Global Shaper,Davao Hub,Philippines;Founder,SureplusGlobal Shapers Community:Annual Report 2023-20249In Colombia,the Cartagena hub is tackling climate change impacts on ecosystems and communities.This project addresses critical climate issues by implementing renewa

52、ble energy systems,promoting sustainable agriculture and conducting extensive public awareness campaigns.In Nigeria,the Global Shapers hub in Calabar is addressing the global plastic waste crisis,a critical environmental issue.They are offering a comprehensive solution that includes a bottle deposit

53、 scheme,a city-wide recycling programme and community engagement coupled with partnerships with local stakeholders.The goals range from waste reduction to establishing a waste beneficiation facility and emphasizing sustainable practices.Other notable projects include a cross-hub initiative to suppor

54、t the record number of people scheduled to vote for leaders and legislatures this year.Global Shapers mobilized young voters to encourage civic participation and strengthen democracies around the world.To equip young people with new support to scale local solutions,we proudly launched an innovation

55、prize to recognize leading hub projects in partnership with Accenture and the Global Alliance for YOUth.In our inaugural year,120 solutions from 70 countries were submitted.Winners will be announced at the Global Shapers Annual Summit,which took place between 10-12 July 2024.At a global level,our ch

56、angemakers also advanced the work of select Forum initiatives,driving tangible outcomes to accelerate reskilling,conserve nature and facilitate innovation.Global Shapers are a powerful force for scaling solutions to new geographies,building awareness and mobilizing grassroots movements for change.Bi

58、.Global Shapers have supported us with time,expertise and connections.In three years,we conducted the largest survey of young Australians garnering 10,000 responses and resulting in the publication of our Awareness to Action Report delivered a Future Generations Leadership Accelerator for 350 youth

59、and established a Parliamentary Group for Future Generations with Australian Federal Ministers.Global Shapers Community:Annual Report 2023-202410Impact areaGlobal reachIn practice Reskilling for the future133 projects increased access to education,skills and jobs or promoted entrepreneurship.Financi

60、al literacy poses a significant challenge in Cambodia,with an overall financial literacy rate of less than 12%.In the Phnom Pen Hub,Global Shapers provided 4,000 young people aged 10 to 17 with financial literacy training through their project,Reil Hackathon,empowering students and their families to

61、 budget,save and invest.The project challenged traditional barriers,prioritized the participation ofyoung women and girls,and paved the way for a more equitable financial future.Protecting the planet101 projects reduced emissions,conserved nature and biodiversity,or promoted sustainability.More than

62、 33 million people face hunger in Brazil,many living in favelas(informal settlements),which have nearly doubled in size in the last 10 years.In the Rio de Janeiro Hub,Global Shapers have constructed two keyhole gardens and four mobile greenhouses through their project,Urban Agroecology,to enhance lo

63、cal agricultural capacity.Gardens and greenhouses prioritize traditional farming practices,products and plants and have supported 60 families in three favelas and trained over 100 regenerative urban agricultural entrepreneurs.Responding to disasters18 projects organized humanitarian aid,responded to

64、 natural disasters or fought poverty.Nine out of 10 children in Gaza are experiencing severe food poverty.Together,Global Shapers around the world established the Connect Palestine initiative to mobilize urgent humanitarian relief for young people in Gaza including members of the Global Shapers Gaza

65、 Hub.$250,000 was crowdfunded by young changemakers to secure food and medical supplies for vulnerable communities in Gaza,as well as provide youth life-saving relocation support.Promoting inclusion46 projects improved human rights and social justice while promoting equity and inclusion.Diverse lite

66、rature faces significant challenges,resulting in the marginalization of stories from underrepresented groups,such as people of colour and the LGBTQIA+community.In the Orlando Hub,Global Shapers have created two Diverse Little Libraries,reaching hundreds of young people in underserved areas of the ci

67、ty.Each book has a QR code to prevent theft or reselling and provides local community leaders with reports of the books that resonate most with young people in the area.Improving health53 projects improved health and well-being for young people and vulnerable groups.Lack of access to menstrual hygie

68、ne products and health education among adolescent girls is a major challenge in Kwara,Nigeria.Global Shapers in the Ilorin Hub have conducted workshops for 300 young women and girls via the project Safe Space for HER.Global Shapers are working with local stakeholders and schools to distribute needed

69、 products and empower students through leadership and self-esteem workshops,equipping young women with the confidence and tools to achieve their goals.Shaping policy-making57 projects strengthened democracy,improved civic engagement or mobilized people to vote locally.Public spaces have the power to

70、 connect people and cities.In the Prague Hub,Global Shapers offered over 200 free public courses on architecture,design and urban planning to young people aged 4-16 via their project UDesign.Many students were newcomers to the city,including refugees or asylum seekers,and classes built a sense of be

79、orum used its convening power to amplify youth voices at several influential meetings this year.At the Annual Meeting in Davos,50 Global Shapers from diverse walks of life advanced solutions and calls to action among 3,000 world leaders.This years youth programme featured 18 influential speaking rol

80、es and 20 sessions,including meetings with experts across business,government and civil society.Global Shapers met with top executives to expand economic opportunities and accelerate progress for the next generation.Accentures Ellyn Shook and Paul Daugherty joined young changemakers to identify stra

81、tegies to ensure generative artificial intelligence(AI)can be harnessed for the equitable and human-centred transformation of industries,economies and societies.Al Gore,Founder of The Climate Reality Project,worked with Global Shapers to strengthen international cooperation on climate,nature and env

82、ironmental justice.Global Shapers also met with the Forums Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders,continuing intergenerational dialogue between activists and executives to accelerate decarbonization worldwide.Similarly,50 young innovators participated in the Annual Meeting of New Champions in Dalian,and 30

96、-202414Looking aheadWhile we are proud of our achievements this year,we have ambitious goals for 2024-2025.To strengthen our global efforts to empower youth leaders,accelerate youth action and amplify youth voices,the Global Shapers Community will aim to fulfil the following goals:Expand our members

97、hip worldwide to reach rising leaders wherever they are by maintaining 500 hubs and reaching a minimum of 25 members per hub by 2025.Mobilize over 2,000 responses to our annual review,soliciting meaningful input from members equitably across all hubs and regions to apply to our future strategy.Issue
