22、mpioned by the King,and contributes to the countrys NDCs.All ministries have a strategy for green government operations that includes renewable energy,energy efficient buildings,sustainable mobility including electric and hybrid vehicles for the government fleet,and green technology for the governme
23、nt.The Moroccan Agency for Energy Efficiency coordinates green government efforts.Case Examples:Carbon-Free ElectricityJapan plans to procure at least 60%of the electricity used in government operations from renewable energy by 2030,an increase from the current 25%.The national government aims to in
24、stall solar on 50%or more of government building by the same date,an increase from the current rate of 2%.Finland procures renewable energy through a unique non-profit limited company,Hansel Oy.It procures roughly 1 TWhthrough initiatives that include purchasing environmental attributes.Currently Ha
25、nsel is considering a wind power purchase agreement(PPA).Malawi has developed an Integrated Resource Plan(2017-2037)to facilitate energy sector investments in carbon-free electricity and take advantage of Malawis rich renewable generation potential.The government is working to increase adoption of r
26、enewable energy sources,including through enhanced green procurement efforts.THANK YOU!BACK-UPCase Examples:Green Public ProcurementAustria adopted the Action Plan on Sustainable Public Procurement(naBe)in June 2021,which requires federal procurements to consider environmental aspects of the product
27、s and services to be purchased.The plan outlines 16 criteria for sustainable public procurements and supports Austrias ambition of a climate neutral government by 2040.Curaao formed the Curaao Sustainability Coalition(CSC)that convenes public and private sector stakeholders to advance green public p
28、rocurement.The governmentadheres to Environmental,Social and Governance(ESG)principles in its procurements.The United Kingdom requires all suppliers bidding for major public contracts worth more than 5 million to commit to Net Zero by 2050 and disclose their GHG emissions or face deselection from the public procurement process.
