3、m overhaul.France is in a good position to help the environment,sourcing 88%of its power from zero-emission sources like nuclear and hydropower.However,decarbonization requires a multi-faceted approach,including minimizing carbon-intensive sources and increasing renewables.This report will explore F

6、er emissions in France came from nuclear energy.While nuclear power emits no greenhouse gasses,France aims to reduce its dependence on it.The plan is to cut nuclears mix share to 50%by 2035.This shift is due to the instability caused by nuclear power in 2022,which left France heavily reliant on impo
7、rted electricity.With nuclear generation reduced,Frances next largest electricity sources are fossil fuels like oil,natural gas,and coal.But with ambitious economy-wide carbon neutrality goals set for 2050,France was looking to phase out coal entirely by the end of 2024.However,it extended its use t

12、 period,which brought the total installed capacity up to 17.15 GW nationwide.The solar PV outlook is bright,but France needs to pick up the pace to reach its targets.The solar plan put forward by the French government aims for 48.1 GW of capacity by 2030 and 140 GW by 2050.However,at the current tra
13、jectory,France is set to fall short on an interim 2023 target of having 20.1 GW of solar power online.In response to this gap,the government passed legislation designed to stimulate and streamline renewables development.This included a more comprehensive definition of an agrivoltaic installation in
14、order to encourage the installation of solar panels on the land where no environmental harm is done while contributing to the overall sustainability of the agricultural plot.With supportive policies and rapid deployment at scale,solar PV can realistically provide over 25%of Frances electricity by 20

17、ild.Neoen owns 40%of the plant with a consortium made up of Eiffage,Clemessy,Schneider Electric,and Krinner.In a year,it produces around 355 GWh and feeds the grid at a rate of 105 per MWh.Near Bordeaux2015300 MWThe most significant solar PV projects in FranceToul-Rosires Solar ParkBuilt on a former
